Sexism in Ara'Kus?
In a recent interview members of Ara'Kus were asked about the portrayal of violence toward women in our production and whether this was indicative of any sexist leanings by the group.

Did you see Aeterno Elementum last month? Silly question, of course you did. For long time fans, you may have noticed the addition of several new faces to the show. One of those faces belongs to our new violinist, Razz. While our other lovely violinist, Vivian, has always been a pleasure on the ears her other duties as both fire dancer and singer have kept her from performing as often as the music demands. Fortunately Razz stepped into the breach and hearing her play was, for me, like hearing the music complete for the first time. I talked with Razz shortly after November's show, and though her siren-like charm left me in a stupor for several months, I have returned with only good things to say.   Read more...

Hard to believe it's been eighteen months since first I was snared by the dastardly demons of heavy metal known as Ara'Kus. Eighteen months and I have had the privilege of watching this group grow more focused, more professional and more awesome than it already was when I first saw it in August of 2011. There have been countless changes to the show since that time: new performers, new equipment, and new scenes. That is all just so much stage-dressing though.
